Fair Work Australia has today handed down a major decision in relation to the wage rates of social and community services workers under the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010.

The Full Bench, (with Vice President Watson dissenting), determined that the rates in the modern award will be increased as follows:

These loadings are to be phased in over an eight year period in nine equal instalments, commencing on 1 December 2012 and ending on 1 December 2020.
